#WeRideTogether Services

At #WeRideTogether, we believe sport should be the safest, healthiest place for children and young adults to grow and flourish, and that everyone has the right to play, learn, and compete without fear of abuse.

That’s why every service we provide is free.

There should not be a price tag on safety. Reducing barriers to education and resources is a key tenet of #WeRideTogether's mission.

Below is an overview of #WeRideTogether’s services. To learn more about what #WeRideTogether can do for your organization, reach out to info@weridetogether.today.

Safeguarding Policy Auditing & Creation

Whether your organization has existing policies you would like audited and strengthened, or you do not have any policies in place and need assistance creating and implementing them, #WeRideTogether can provide tailored support.

#WeRideTogether’s dedicated team of experts is ready to jump in, no matter what stage of policy creation your organization finds itself in. If you need help getting started with athlete-centered, trauma-informed, evidence-based safeguarding policies, #WeRideTogether will listen to the specific needs of your sporting environment, taking into consideration the nuances and specificities of your community, sport, and culture. If you already have policies in place and need to know whether they’re adequate to protect young athletes in your community, #WeRideTogether will conduct a comprehensive audit and return robust feedback to guide you toward survivor-centered, prevention-based safeguarding best practices. Plus, we can provide translated versions of resources (including handouts, training presentations, videos, etc.) and policies to accommodate international organizations.

It can be hard to know where to start with safeguarding policies, or whether the ones you have in place are adequate in an evolving, complex prevention landscape. #WeRideTogether is pleased to support you in navigating safeguarding and prevention.

Risk Assessments

Knowing where to start with safeguarding can be tough. Knowing your own blind spots can be even tougher. #WeRideTogether can send a team to your athletic facility to conduct a comprehensive risk assessment, helping you identify vulnerable areas where misconduct can occur and where athlete safety and welfare can be improved.

Additionally, #WeRideTogether can train staff members from your organization to conduct risk assessments themselves and provide supporting guides, surveys, and tools to support sustainable, routine implementation.

From residential training facilities to competitive spaces, #WeRideTogether helps organizations and teams keep their spaces safe, healthy, and fun for all!

Educational Trainings & Modules

Prevention starts with education.

From teaching our youngest athletes about the importance of trusting their intuition and listening to their bodies to teaching our adult athletes proper safeguarding rules and procedures, we all have a role to play in creating and maintaining safe, healthy athletic environments.

#WeRideTogether is proud to offer educational training to organizations worldwide. In-person or online, these trainings are free, tailored to your sport and organization, research-based, and survivor-centered. Tried and tested through organizations such as Laureus USA, World Aquatics, Street Child United, the Institute on Violence and Trauma, and more, our educational trainings are chock-full of resources you can immediately apply to your team and community.

We also offer completely asynchronous online educational modules. This resource is free, and each module takes about 20 minutes to complete. Modules are tailored to athletes, coaches, parents, and administrators & staff, and include visuals, videos, resources, and activities to keep you engaged.

Interested in a specific educational topic for your organization, but don’t see it? Let us know! We’ll custom-make it, just for you. Plus, any of these services can be translated for our international and/or multi-lingual partners.

Video & Content Creation

#WeRideTogether has a library full of educational and promotional videos to help athletic communities learn about safe, healthy sport.

Engaging prominent athletes to promote healthy sport is key to introducing top-down safeguarding measures. #WeRideTogether is happy to create content spreading this message, as seen in our “What Healthy Sport Means to Three Canadian Olympians” video.

Additionally, we can translate and/or make content adjustments to any of our videos. We can embed subtitles and/or implement other accessibility components that best meet your organization's needs.

Need an educational or promotional safeguarding video tailored to your sport, or in your language? Reach out to info@weridetogether.today!

Events & Activations

Want to meet the team behind the screen? #WeRideTogether can send a representative (or two) to your next athletic event to host a community event or activation to teach your community about safe, healthy, and fun sport!

From horse shows to rowing regattas to badminton championships, #WeRideTogether loves engaging with athletes, coaches, parents, and community members to talk about preventing abuse in sport. These events are tailored to your community’s unique nuances and needs.

For example:

  • Our annual equestrian event, the MeadowGrove & Friends 1.20 Open Jumper Classic at Desert International Horse Park, engages athletes of every age in prevention education, gifts them with educational materials, and fosters top-down engagement to make our hunter/jumper equestrian sport healthier for all.
  • At Traverse City Horse Shows, our poster and bridal charm-making event before the Parade of Nations at the North American Youth Championships engages top youth athletes from across the continent in prevention education conversations.
  • At USRowing’s Youth Nationals, asking community members to share what healthy sport means to them provides a moment of reflection during a challenging and fun competition.
  • At Street Child United’s Futbol World Cup, on-site safeguarding training equips volunteers and team leaders with best practices and tangible resources, while activities with teenage athletes from around the world address sportsmanship and leave them with a simple prevention resource (a pair of crew socks with an athlete helpline number) that they can keep with them.

Ready to take the next step on your safeguarding journey? Reach out to #WeRideTogether to see which on-site activations make the most sense for your organization.

Educational Item Creation

We offer a wide range of educational materials meant to spread the word about safe, healthy athletic environments. From crew socks with the Courage First Athlete Helpline number on them, to double-sided magnets featuring our C.A.R.D. Diagrams, cooling towels with best-practice safeguards written on them, and more: these resources help disseminate prevention information in a tangible, approachable way.

Check out our new Safeguarding Kit for a comprehensive package, or reach out and let us know what item you’re looking for.

Interested in a specific item for your sport, but don’t see it? Let us know! We’ll custom-make it, just for you.
